Kunsang Foundation Nepal
Kunsang Foundation Nepal (KFN) is a non-profit organization established in 2026 to promote holistic wellbeing, ethical living, sustainable livelihoods, and resilient communities across Nepal. Guided by the advisory support of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and inspired by the wisdom of the Bon traditions such as Dzogchen, KFN integrates ancient spiritual knowledge with modern science and education to address today's social, health, and environmental challenges.
Although inspired by Himalayan wisdom traditions such as Dzogchen, Kunsang Foundation Nepal is a non-religious and non-political organization that offers its work in an inclusive, practical, and universal way. Guided by the values of compassion, integrity, inclusion, and service, we work with people of all backgrounds, respecting local cultures while promoting wellbeing, ethical living, community resilience, and responsible leadership.
Rooted in the ancient Bön tradition and inspired by the principle of Kunsang — “the All-Good” — the name Kunsang reflects our aspiration to nurture the innate goodness within every being, fostering dignity, compassion, and holistic well-being.
Our Vision
To cultivate a society where ancient spiritual wisdom and modern science work together to inspire ethical living, holistic wellbeing, ecological responsibility, sustainable livelihoods, and compassionate, responsible citizens.
Our vision is a society where spiritual wisdom and contemporary knowledge work hand in hand to inspire compassionate, responsible citizens who enjoy better health, meaningful livelihoods, environmental harmony, and the opportunity to reach their full human potential.
The Foundation's journey began in 2025 through extensive planning and consultation with Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, his organizations, and our founding board members who shared a common aforesaid vision and mission. Following our registration in early 2026, we established our office and began developing community-based programs across several areas: community health and wellbeing, traditional Himalayan healing and wellness, education for children in remote communities, vocational skills development, youth empowerment, cultural preservation, and public awareness.
Over the next two years, we aim to improve the health and wellbeing of 3,000 to 5,000 people in the Kathmandu Valley through diabetes prevention, health screening, and healthy lifestyle education; provide professional training in traditional Himalayan healing, Ayurvedic therapies, and Tibetan Ku Nye massage to create sustainable livelihoods for young people; and expand educational support for children in the remote Himalayan communities of Lower Dolpa, while helping preserve their cultural identity and heritage.
We believe lasting change begins by empowering individuals with knowledge, skills, and opportunities, while strengthening the communities in which they live. Our programs emphasize community participation, and environmental stewardship, promoting preventive health, education, sustainable livelihoods, youth leadership, and entrepreneurship — while preserving Himalayan spiritual knowledge, traditional healing practices, languages, arts, and cultural heritage.
Through partnerships with local governments, educational institutions, monasteries, health professionals, and national and international collaborators, we work toward sustainable solutions that continue to benefit communities long after individual projects have ended — empowering people to live healthier, more dignified, and more meaningful lives while contributing to a compassionate and resilient society.
Our Mission
To empower individuals and communities by integrating timeless spiritual wisdom with modern science through education, community programs, and livelihood development. We promote human wellbeing, environmental harmony, ethical citizenship, and sustainable livelihoods while preserving and advancing the knowledge, culture, and wisdom of the Himalayas, bridging inner transformation with meaningful social contribution.
Logo

Inspired by the Dzogchen wisdom tradition, the Kunzang Foundation Nepal logo features a heart symbolizing universal wisdom & love, openness, and the source of all goodness. The radiant light at its center represents the energy of care and service, illuminating ignorance and alleviating suffering, ultimately bringing light, happiness, and transformation to humanity.
This symbol is a truly heartwarming representation of the Dzogchen tradition. The golden circle is that boundless space—View (Gzhi གཞི།); the flame is the light of self-awareness shining away ignorance—The Path (Lam ལམ།); and the heart at the center is the warmth of compassion—Fruition (’Bras bu འབྲས་བུ།).
All of this is gently held in two hands, symbolizing the care and respect for this timeless wisdom shared by communities. Together, it embodies the essence of A (space), OM (awareness), and HUNG (warmth)—a beautiful and simple way to remember the unity of space, awareness, and compassion.
Rooted in ancient Himalayan wisdom, our symbol reflects four essential qualities: care that nurtures and supports; openness to new possibilities; self-awareness that helps us recognize the potential within ourselves and others; and dynamic compassion that transforms that potential into meaningful action, even in the face of challenges.
